The moment a couple turns and walks back down the aisle as newlyweds is one of my favourite frames of any wedding day — the breath out, the release, the cheers from the people who love them most. This one was photographed at the Liberty Grand at Exhibition Place, looking back into the room as the recessional began.
I've photographed at the Liberty Grand a number of times over the years, in all three of its ballrooms — it's a venue that holds large, formal Toronto weddings well, and one where knowing the room in advance matters. The ceiling height, the light, the long sightlines down the aisle: all things worth understanding before the moment you're trying to catch.
